About the role and about us

Cornwall Housing's Electrical Team deliver a high quality, efficient, cost effective, safe, friendly and customer focused capital improvement, cyclical maintenance and repair service to tenants and leaseholders in our portfolio of 10,500 homes throughout Cornwall. As an Electrician, you will help us to ensure Cornwall Housing Policies, procedures and statutory obligations are fully complied with at all times.

Cornwall Housing is a Cornwall Council owned company who look after:

  • 10,450 Council homes including Cornwall Housing owned
  • 300 leasehold properties
  • 2000 garages
  • The housing waiting list supporting the Council’s Allocation Policy
  • Private sector lease properties and private lets

We also give advice and support to people facing severe housing difficulties and help where we can to support people into housing. We provide a lettings agency and independent living service that covers the whole of Cornwall.

About you

You will be self motivated, with a City and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2 (or equivalent) or NVQ 3 in Electrical installation, with a proven track record and experience of Domestic electrical installation. You will also be experienced in test, inspection and certification as you will be required to fill in your own installation certificates. Knowledge of relevant Housing policies and procedures would also be an advantage, and it is desirable that you have completed a relevant apprenticeship, with a Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
