Amounts levied on Cornwall Council

Included within the Council’s overall budget are levies which are payable to both the Environment Agency (South West Region) and the Cornwall Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (CIFCA). Both organisations set their levies on an annual basis.

The Environment Agency levy supports local flood risk management projects that are not funded nationally. The CIFCA levy supports its operational role including ensuring the sustainable exploitation of sea fisheries resources and protection of the marine environment from sea fishing.
